A personal, complex, and moving collection of animated documentary shorts from Israel, capturing life as it is — here and now. Meet Liri, a young Israeli girl adapting to life in the Netherlands where kids swim fully clothed; Moria, a religious woman confronting taboos around self-pleasure; Jamila, a Bedouin woman on a journey for recognition — and other local voices challenging the limits of body, society, and identity.
Animated documentary is a beautiful paradox. Documentary aims for objectivity and truth, while animation is pure invention — every frame is crafted from nothing. And yet, this collision often reveals a different kind of truth, perhaps even a deeper one: emotional, internal, and beyond the reach of a camera.
Following the screening on Thursday, August 7, at 17:00, there will be a 30-minute Q&A session with the filmmakers.
