August is the time for Israel’s biggest cartoon celebration with Animix Tel Aviv, the International Animation, Comics, and Caricature Festival.

Since 2001, every summer, the Tel Aviv Cinematheque gathers the best animated and illustrated works for a festive multi-day happening. This includes dozens of screenings of Israeli and international animated films, comics and caricature workshops, artist meetings with top Israeli illustrators, esteemed guests from abroad, exhibitions, and a rich comics market with sales booths. Every year, over 15,000 people of all ages visit the festival, from kindergarteners to seniors. It turns out that at any age, everyone can find their inner child through the magic of animation, the imagination of cartoons, and the wonders of superheroes.
